Oh, you bad turtles!

Not sure if I want to turn my half sleeve into a full one or start on my other half sleeve. I also want to get my extinct birds on my legs (huia and passenger pigeon). I should probably save that money for a computer. I’m bad at making impulsive and expensive decisions that have long term consequences.

I don’t want to go back to school tomorrow.

I always get really anxious before the first day of school.

My Personal Top 11 in 2011:

11. Eating at a lot of awesome places: Melt, Chicago Diner, Grahamwich, Hal and Al’s, The Vegetable Garden, Sunspot, Laughing Seed, and Handlebar. Probably a lot more I’m forgetting.

10. Adventures in the North Carolina with Jason and Dewey Jason existing.

9. Oak Hill Cemetery project and being in the news.

8. Going to shows again and seeing Cold Cave, Cut Copy, Matthew Dear, and Lord Centipede.

7. Seeing “Purple Rain” on the big screen with two of my best friends.

6. Watching “Bronson” for the first time and falling in love with the film / Tom Hardy.

5. Learning how to brew beer and it turning out delicious.

4. The Lone Wolf Pack winning $350 for 4th place at the trivia finals aboard the Detroit Princess cruise ship.

3. Getting a 4.0 for a semester in Grad School while working full time and being a Graduate Assistant.

2. Sean and I going to see USA beat Canada for the CONCACAF Cup in Detroit. Everyone was carrying US Flags and chanting “USA!” and it was one of the coolest moments I’ve ever experienced.

1. Going to the University of Tennessee’s Anthropological Research Facility (you know… “The Body Farm”) and recovering, identifying, and learning about bodies. I also made some really awesome friends, won money at trivia, and drank a lot of Fat Tire. It was like doing my dream job for two weeks and it made me really sure of my decision to go into this line of work.

Coming Soon: VHS Tattoo…

I started following a bunch of VHS tumblrs and blogs. They’re pretty awesome. It solidified my want for a VHS Tape tattoo. I know that I’m not alone in my love for tapes. I think I’m going to get it on my left sleeve when I get that started. Which is soon.

Zombie nightmares without zombies…

It’s that time where I have zombie nightmares again. I have at least one zombie nightmare every few weeks. This time there weren’t any zombies. I know the reason for that - I was explaining to Christine earlier about the movie “Funny Games” is that you can make a suspenseful / horror movie without showing violence.

Anyways, it took place in Depot Town, and I ended up in a huge student house that had lots of bars on the windows. I was with a group of people who were coming and going. I was trying to be rational and tell them to board up the windows, so people won’t come in and steal our stuff and so that people won’t think we’re zombies. We had lots of food, phones still worked, and the house had a back up generator.

My friend Michael was in the dream, too. He was going to go back home to check on his family. I told him it would be safer to stay at the house, because we had protection and supplies. He left anyways, and I was really upset.

Sean was missing for most of the dream, he was trying to make his way to the house, but I hadn’t heard from him. It was a very anxious feeling. They days were going by in the dream, but I kept waiting. It was strange, during the day they were people walking around, but at night we would shut the windows and not look outside. We all knew what was there, but never saw it.

The last part of the dream was me doing Yoga and one of my old room mates eating a bean and cheese burrito. There were some sketchy dudes outside the window smoking pot, and I was reminding the house again to board up the place. Overall, not scary, but really tense and uneasy feeling during the entire dream. Of course I feel all weird today, because I didn’t sleep well afterward.

True Fact: I hate the “Happy Birthday” song and refuse to sing it or have it sung to me.
